Childhood Onset Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders in children, characterized by repeated seizures resulting from abnormal electrical activity in the brain. These seizures can appear in various forms — from brief episodes of unresponsiveness or staring, to jerking movements, sudden falls, or momentary loss of awareness. Epilepsy in children may be caused by genetic factors, prenatal or birth-related injuries, infections, or abnormal brain development. Early recognition and expert intervention are essential to prevent complications and support healthy brain growth.
At our Paediatric Neurology Centre, we provide advanced and compassionate care for children diagnosed with epilepsy. Our specialists use EEG (electroencephalogram) tests, brain MRI scans, and comprehensive neurological assessments to identify the cause and type of seizures. Based on these findings, we create an individualized epilepsy treatment plan that may include anti-seizure medications, dietary management, physiotherapy, and developmental guidance.
Our goal is to help every child achieve effective seizure control and live a healthy, confident, and fulfilling life. Through continuous monitoring, family counseling, and education, we ensure that both the child and parents understand the condition and its management. With early diagnosis, expert care, and supportive therapy, most children with epilepsy can enjoy normal learning, play, and development without limitations.
With awareness, early diagnosis, and the right support, childhood epilepsy can be controlled — and childhood can be reclaimed.
